cost of mastitis to Irish dairy farmers is estimated at 30
million per annum and is made up of the following costs:

Costs
- Lost Animal Costs

Mastitis is the major source of financial loss in most dairy
farms.
Sub-Clinical
Mastitis Costs
- Reduced Milk Yield
- Poor Milk Quality
- Increased TBC
- Reduced
Solids
- Premature Culling Of Infected Animals
Fine
limestone has proven itself to be effective in the fight against
Environmental Mastitis and is a standard recommendation by Teagasc
in the control of mastitis. Now
fortified with Apex, a unique blend of natural plant extracts
especially selected for they're bactericidal properties and
proven effectiveness against Strep, Staph and E. Coli, the major
mastitis causing organisms, we bring you BACTICUBE cubicle liner. Mastitis
can be controlled not eliminated- Bacticube is an essential
aid in the control of Environmental Mastitis

hygiene is more important than ever. Our milk is used
in the manufacture of the renowned Cashel Blue Cheese;
therefore on-farm hygiene has to be extremely good.
I wanted a natural, safe, hygiene product. I needed
one that would neutralise and dry floor surfaces and
kill bacteria. Bacticube, I found did all that. The
results speak for themselves. The cows are a lot cleaner
and easier to manage. Mastitis at present is virtually
nil and the cell count is extremely low.

Agrical
AGRICAL has
been designed and graded to suit many applications on your farm.
It's primary
use is in the control of odour and maintenance of sanitary conditions
in livestock buildings such as cubicle houses, calving pens and
lambing boxes, feed lots, piggeries and stables. AGRICAL is a
superfine powder, which makes it super absorbent.
Unlike limestone,
which contains a high level of grit, it will not damage hoof surfaces.
Equally important,
it is fine enough to be held in suspension in slurry so that there
is no build-up on tank floors which is a major problem with other
dressings.
Directions
for use: Apply as required on all important floor surfaces after
cleaning. Ensure surface is dry before application.
The risk
of injury or infection to confined livestock is reduced, where
Agrical is spread on concentrate floors to absorb any fluids present.
Bedding treated with AGRICAL subsequently has a greater fertilizer
value for soil application.
- Superfine
for maximum absorption.
- Held in
suspension in slurry
- An aid
in the prevention of infectious diseases such as footrot, metritis
and mastitis.
- For the
rapid neutralization of floor surfaces to help prevent the growth
of pathogenic bacteria.
Warning
Ensure
cubicles are cleaned down prior to application of Agrical.
MILK
FEVER A PLACE FOR ORAL CALCIUM
Super soluble
for rapid calcium release to help prevent milk fever in susceptible
cases. AGRICAL has proven to be a highly effective preventative
against milk fever where acute outbreaks are a problem. AGRICAL
can be mixed with a cereal or pulp mix and top dressed on forage.
Alternatively it can be dosed in a liquid suspension.
Recommended
Dosage:
125g 12 hours before calving
125g immediately after calving
125g 12 hours after calving
SUPER
SOLUBLE FOR QUICK CALCIUM RELEASE
Note:
If low blood phosphorous (p) levels coexist with low blood calcium
(Ca) levels, 3 doses of 180g 6 ozes of di-calcium phosphate
can be used instead of limestone flour.
